Senior Pastor David Rocker

David Rocker is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and serves as the senior pastor of The Connection Church.  Before becoming senior pastor. David served The Connection Church in various capacities.  He has served as the associate pastor, praise and worship leader, and sound technician.

David Rocker graduated from Auburn University and went on to play professional football in the NFL - four years (1991-1994) with the Los Angeles Rams. While playing he rededicated his life back to the Lord. After witnessing a lack of boldness and zeal in the Body of Christ David began to encourage teammates along with their families to attend bible study which grew steadily during his involvement. While deepening his faith and love for God. David developed a passion for spiritual GROWTH through discipleship. Thus laying the ground work for a life in ministry.

David holds a bachelor’s degree in Adult Education from Auburn University and a Masters degree in Leadership (MAL) from Luther Rice College and Seminary. He received his ministry license from Covenant Ministry International (CMI) and was ordained by Pastor Gary Taylor of Open Word Ministries, Inc. David also holds a broadcasting degree from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. David is married to childhood friend Constance. They are proud parents and grandparents.

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Connie Rocker (First Lady)

Connie Rocker is a native of Atlanta, GA and a loving, anointed, dedicated, and supportive wife, mother, and daughter.  After high school, she attended Atlanta Area Technical School, followed by a career in the legal field until her retirement from Clayton County Superior Courts in 2019.  

Connie is highly involved in community service.  She served several years on the Clayton County Citizen Review Panel, and was one of the first to be trained and appointed as a State of Georgia Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA).   CASAs speak as advocates for neglected, abused, and abandoned children in court.  She is the Vice-President for doGOODthings, Inc. which is a non-profit that strives to make an impact in the communities by providing the necessary tools to help those in need attain their goals.  She is also the Vice-President of Gibraltar Ministries, Inc., another non-profit which is an outreach ministry that focuses on spiritual growth.  

When it comes to administration, she truly has the gift.  She served as Church Administrator and the Chief Financial Officer for over ten years at her previous church.  In addition to being the First Lady, she is also a member of the Praise Team.  Her favorite scripture is Psalms 37:4 which she believes with all of her heart.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, dancing, baseball, shopping, traveling, gardening, spending time with family and friends, and being Coco to the grandchildren.  Connie resides in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA with her husband, Pastor David Rocker.  They have five (5) adult children, and two grandchildren, Carson & Carina.

 

Church Administrator

Elaine LaFavers

Elaine LaFavers along with her husband Garry have been with the church for over 27 years. She continues to faithfully serve the church on a daily basis in many different areas. She also serves on the Hospitality Team and Finance Team.

Connect Kids

Brandi Myers is the Connect Kids Director who oversees, plan, and along with her team implement lessons from the Word of God that are very relevant and applicable to the various age ranges of Connect Kids.  Brandi has a very loving and outgoing personality who loves to make others smile.  She has worked in the medical field for over twenty years ranging from Pediatrics to Family Medicine.  Brandi also serves as a Greeter, and is a member of the Paise Team.  She enjoys, reading, shopping, dancing, and playing Board Games. Brandi is married to Corey Myers who serves as lead Usher at TCC. They are the proud parents of five kids. Brandi is a native of Hackensack, New Jersey.

Connect Teens Director

Marvell Jones serves as the Connect Teens and Community Director. He has a genuine love for people and a passion for serving students inside and outside of the walls of the church. Marvell uses a down to earth approach to present the gospel of Jesus Christ to teenage students that will challenge and inspire them to live out their faith on a daily basis. He is also the Program Director for eight times Mr. Olympia Lee Haney’s Modern Day Knights Mentorship Program for young Men and Haney’s Harvest House for Youth ages 10 - 18 years old.
